Practice Tip 18: Practicing an Instrument in Covid Times
I have been negligent about continuing the posts of my practice tips. Since I will have a virtual art opening starting this weekend, I was inspired to produce some new practice tip paintings. I have a whole lot more ideas on my list working towards my 2nd similar book with more advanced ideas. However, one that I wish I included in my first book, Have Fun with Your Music, is “Remember Your Pencil for Practice, Lessons and Rehearsals and USE it!” I just may add it to the 2nd edition of this book.
Remember to have a pencil with you during practice, lessons and rehearsals and USE it. My last teacher marked bright Pink Pen dots by the phrases I needed to still practice. My son's last piano teacher marked up his music with a different color of pencil every week. Some of his pages looked like Xmas tree decorations.
Mark your music during your practice and after your practice to remember what to start on for your next practice. And if you have on-line lessons, you must write down notes. Perhaps, use a journal.
Note that this particular painting, has not yet been made into note cards or prints at the time of this writing. Meanwhile, if you would like to order a print or enough note cards to make it worth my while, I will get this done for you, so inquire in comments below or to my contact info.
